It's Chinese Take Out Time

Wednesday, October 11, 2006 - WIKI!!!!

I don't know why, how, or how long it will last, but for some reason, WIKIPEDIA IS ACCESSIBLE RIGHT NOW. I feel like I've found about, oh, 1/6th of my brain again. Seriously, I've cried a little every time I see an interesting link that I can't get to.

But, I'm not a complete Wiki addict. There are more important things in life; food being one of them. I've been alternating between nauseous and hungry the entire day, and the only thing I've eaten is about 50 g of crackers. Hannah's been feeling nauseous and sick as well, so it's probably a stomach bug or something. I'm going out to get a pizza right now anyways (and yes, I'm salivating a little at the very thought, so sue me), and pray I won't have to regret it later.

i couldnt find anywhere approperate to put this but i thought this would be an interesting mission for you to take a look at...

mission: to obeserve how and why the "over polite" "li-mao" ediquitte came about... and what are the rules of conduct... in modern times...

all i remember as i small child is my parents being stern about not taking gifts and defintaly not money (abit the red-envlope at new years) and doing the "no i dont want it" dance for everyone, even though all parties know i do want, and i will evenutally end up with whatever "it" is... and this time around at gran-ma's it took us close on 40mins to leave her a pittance of $5000rmb... as a gift, since we didnt bring much in the way of stuff other than her nutritional suppliments and a few cheezy sourviners... and dad wanted to get her a new winter coat but it the season to purchase that stuff is more or less now (a month later) seriously $5000rmb (equvaliant) is what dad has on him at any one time as pocket change...

anyways... i thought that would make an intresting read... and something good to look back on later.. and also something that you can teach your husband, father of your child (btw we've been warned that in 2008, we had better be bring back a 4th gen for grandma...so you better get cracking... of course the main onus of that task is on moi since im the only one currently engaged ((litterally)) in a serious ((parent meeting)) relationship. and since we have a fur kid ((dog)) that somehow automatically makes me responsible.... but im saying you better get your A in to G and take some heat off a me...i've only got 2 years ppl!!! help me out here!!! give me some kind of defence!!! im only 9mths older than you~)

i asked dad about this "code of conduct...tradition" (for a lack of a better noun) and this is what he had to say to my question beginning with WHY: "its just the way things are, DUH..."
